TC at Home
The Toftness house was a kit, built in 1928 straight from the Sears catalog. After carefully pulling all woodwork and flooring, the lath and plaster was torn out, revealing the original insulation: newspaper. The main floor and second story were reconfigured, new windows were put in, and the old fir trim that had been stripped and refinished was re-installed. Most of the old flooring was re-laid like a puzzle. Then began the fun of packing as much functionality into this little home as possible through custom built ins.

The hardware on the living room cabinetry has historic charm (and the cabinet almost conceals the television!).
The dining table is a marble remnant from a kitchen project, and 4 antique legs built into a trestle design.
